Class Reflection 25 January 2011

What did I learn ?

This lesson, Mr Kwek taught us how tropical rainforests adapt to the environment around them and their surroundings. To name one example, trees in tropical rainforests have Buttress roots which sole purpose is to support the tall and heavy tree ( not absorbing water from the ground even though its a type of root ).




Also, the leaves of many trees contain drip tips so that excess water can be removed from the leaves of a tree and also, the leaves have a special wax layer on their leaves which helps to retain water within the leave and not lose too much water during transpiration.





My thoughts on this lesson

Overall not a bad one , get to know more about the rainforests . How the rainforest adapt is very interesting .

What did i learn?

During this lesson we learnt about the different characteristics of the tropical ranforest and we also revised on what the teacher thaught us during the previous geography lessons. We were also introduced to the climograph, which basically gives us information about how much rainfall and the temperature of a particular place on earth.


What are my thoughts?

It wasn't as boring as i would have thought and it is actually quite interesting which kept me awake the entire time .   : )

Class reflection 1 (11 January 2011)

What did I learn ?

On that day, I had my very first geography lesson in the year 2011. The teacher taught us briefly about natural vegetation during class and also give us alot more information about the different type of rainforests. He also taught us about how climate, rainfall , and temperature affects plant growth.

What are my thoughts on this lesson?

Even though geography is interesting, i feel that the teacher needs to speak in a less monotonous voice (no offence) , that almost made me fell asleep during that lesson.

To end of, that geography lesson really benefited and increased my knowledge about natural vegetation but the teacher have to conduct more fun activities to make sure that those who feel bored and uninterested about geography to be able to stay awake in class and enjoy it together.
